Punch Needle Embroidery is achieved using a special hollow needle that has an eye in which to thread wool or cotton floss. This thread is 'punched' onto weaver's cloth, wool or any closely woven fabric that is kept taut on a special hoop or frame. Loops are formed on the 'right' side of the fabric to create a design that's been printed on the 'wrong' side.

Yo-Yo Bottlecap Ornaments

These whimsical ornies are punched with soft and wooly hand dyed threads and placed in oversized bottlecaps. A matching homespun yo-yo and vintage button on the back from Grandmom's button box secure the caps nicely. They hang from a waxed linen loop. Perfect for a prim feather tree, peg shelf or even as a special gift tie-on.

Sheep Go 'Round the Posies PinKeep

One-of-a-kind pinkeep beautifully punched and placed in a vintage quart size Ball canning jar lid, complete with the porcelain liner. I've used soft, hand dyed wool threads in shades of burgundy, ecru, periwinkle, rose and leaf green. It's been lightly stuffed with wool fluff to keep your pins nice and sharp. Measures about 2 3/4 inches round.

Punch Needle Spool Wraps Scissor Keeps

Back by popular demand are my Spool Wrap Scissor Keeps. What a neat way of keeping your scissors close at hand on your work table or sewing machine! They're also sweet enough to place on a shelf or tucked among your favorite pretties or knick-knacks. Each wrap is punched with my favorite hand-dyed wool threads and sewn onto a vintage wooden spool. I applied a circle of wool felt to the top of the spool to help protect your scissor tips too. I kept the original label on the bottom of the spool just for fun!

   Each spool measures about 1 1/2 inches tall and round. Each spool is signed and dated by The Fool herself {me!}. Choose from Pretty Posies in a Row [SOLD] or Colorful Circles in a Square. I hope you like 'em!

Yo-Yo Bottle Cap Punch Needle Pins

YThis is a brand new style of pin for Spring! I had such fun punchin' these! I'll be designing more throughout the year, especially for the holidays. I LOVE to wear them too! Each pin is punched using hand-dyed Merino wool threads and placed in a larger than average bottle cap. The cap is then hand sewn onto a large homespun fabric yo-yo. A large pin is sewn to the back of the yo-yo for years of wearing pleasure.

Each yo-yo measures a little over 2 inches round. The punched piece measures just shy of 1 1/4 inches.

Punch Needle Wool Felt Scissor Case

I love pairing wool felt with my punched pieces. This scissors case is a great example of just that. The case features a punched multi-colored heart that's been hand sewn onto the wool felt. I've lined the case with a pretty flowered calico, backed it with wool felt and blanket stitched all around with a coordinating color yarn. Hand dyed Merino wool threads was used to punch the heart. The Scrappy Hearts was punched with a rainbow selection of colors sure to please everyone's tastes. You could also use this case to hold and protect your eyeglasses.<p> The case measures about 8 1/4 inches long and about 3 3/4 inches wide, at its widest point. The punched heart is a little over 4 1/4 inches long by about 2 1/4 inches wide, at its widest point.

~*~Punch Needle 'Sheep in the Meadow' Penny Rug~*~

I've had a hankering to whip up some penny rugs again and thought, why not feature a punched piece to conpliment it? So that's what I did with my original design, 'Sheep in the Meadow'. I've used my yummy, hand dyed wool threads for the punched piece. I applied a hand twisted cording in a coordinating shade of wool thread all around it for a nice finishing touch. The penny rug is made from felted wool. I've backed it with the same color wool felt to give it a nice, cushy feel and to hide my stitches. A long, skinny cinnamon stick serves as the rod and I used rusty wire for the hanger. No glue was used for this entire piece! Every stitch was made by me, The Fool herself!

The Penny Rug measures about 9 1/2 inches tall from the top of the rusty wire hanger to the bottom of the penny tongues and about 5 1/4 inches wide.
The punched piece measures about 3 inches wide by 2 inches tall.

Fall Pumpkin Pins
Perfect to wear on that nubby knit sweater or denim jacket. Punched using fine wool threads in bright Fall colors. Each pin is backed with matching ultra suede. A large pin is sewn to the back for years of wearing pleasure. A hand crafted wool thread cording has been placed around each pin for a nice finished touch.
Measures 2 1/2" tall by almost 1 3/4" wide.

Americana Pouch with bottle cap dangles
Show your colors with this neat pouch hanging on a knob or peg. Weaver's cloth and burgundy wool felt are blanket stitched together to form the pouch. Wool threads were used for the folk art flag and the bottle cap dangles.

PrimAnnie Angel with punch needle wings

This little sweetie is a one-of-a-kind creation made with my simple crafting dough and a whole lotta love. Her wings are punched in ecru and tan wool threads and backed with soft wool felt.  She also has a rusty wire halo with a dough star adornment.
She measures about 5 inches wide and 2 inches tall, not including the waxed linen hanger.

PosyPot Pin n' Needle Keeper

A sweet booklet that's perfect to hold all your pins n' needles safe, This keep is purdy ANS useful.  I've punched the design with hand dyed Merino wool threads in soft pastel colors. Antique buttons adorn the fron and serve as the 'hinge' to keep the booket together. Soft wool felt lined and backed too. A real sweet piece. Hope you like it!

Punch Needle Bottle Cap Snowflakes
We don't get much snow in sunny Florida so these neat one~of~a~kind snowflakes are just the ticket! They're guaranteed not to melt too! They'd be perfect to hang on your ornie tree all winter long. These are double-sided ornaments...the front looks just as good as the back! The bottle cap snowmen are needle punched with wool threads. The reverse shows a matching snowflake with pearl bead accents. They've also been spritzed with my walnut ink mixture for a warm prim look.

Each snowflake is made with bumpy chenille stems, lightly tea stained and dusted with mica flakes. Rusty bells tinkle on each tip. Each ornament measures about 4 1/2 inches from tip to tip. A long piece of off-white waxed linen serves as the hanger.

Love Birds Punch Needle Butter Paddle

This is one of my favorite items to use to showcase my punchins'!

This antique wooden butter paddle is the perfect place for the warm, rich, wooly colors of the threads. For this butter paddle, I was inspired by the Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs that you see on all the barns that dot the countryside. I've needle punched it onto weaver's cloth using quality wool threads in rich prim shades of blue, dark green, gold and maroon and a yummy overdyed thread for the scallop border. As a finishing touch, I've placed a hand twisted wool cording around the piece with that same background color thread. It's signed and dated by The Punchin' Fool [that's me!]. I've also added a piece of suede cording so you can hang it from a cupboard peg or knob of your choosing.

The butter paddle measures about 8 1/2" tall by 4" wide.
The punched piece measures about 3 1/4" tall by 3 1/2" wide.

Primitive Feather Tree with Punch Needle Bottle Cap Ornaments 

A Punchin' Fool Original, this prim feather tree is one-of-a-kind and very unique! I've placed a crooked, skinny, sweet smelling cinnamon stick in a large wooden spool and twisted some  small needled pine garland for the branches.  Red wooden beads are on each branch tip.  The spool is a nice barn red with brown antiquing stain. All of the ornaments are punched in warm prim colors and spritzed with my walnut ink concoction.

They look much brighter in the pictures but they're a rich, warm, prim shade.  All of the ornaments are removeable. I hope to make more for the different holidays too! Rusty wire serves as their hangers.   There are 11 ornaments total~1 larger star tree topper, 3 unique snowguys, 3 snowflakes, 2 stars and 2 peppermint candies.

The entire tree measures about 10 3/4 inches tall, from the bottom of the wooden spool to the tippy top of the star tree topper. It is about 5 1/2 inches wide, measuring from the bottom most branch.  The entire piece is signed and dated by The Punchin' Fool [that's me!].

NEW Primitive Punch Needle Winter Bottle Cap Hang Tags

These neat one~of~a~kind tags are perfect to hang around anywhere! You could also use them as ornies on your Prim tree! I had such fun punchin' these up just   for Pfatt. They're SO fun! Each bottle cap punchie was stitched with my fave wool threads in all the nice wintertime colors and placed in a larger sized bottle cap...a little over an inch round. I've placed the caps on some cinnamon coated, vanilla stained cardstock tags. A long, fat piece of coordinating homespun has been tied to each tag. Each tag has tiny cut out letters..." snowguys [Snow and Brrrrr], Stars [Peace and Shine], and feather trees [ Dream and Joy].

I've also added a rusty wire curly-q and bell dangle for some fun and noise! Each tag measures about 3 inches tall [not including the long homespun hanger and rusty wire dangle] by a little over 1 1/4 inches wide. [Overall length of each tag is about 8 1/2" long].

NEW Punch Needle Bottle Cap PIN Hang Tags

One~of~a~kind prim tags that double as PINS! What a FUN way to show your primness! Add these tags to your fave Annie,, hang'em from a shaker peg or ornie tree, add them to a special gift AND wear the bottle cap creation as a neat scatter pin! 

Each bottle cap punchie pin was stitched with my fave wool threads and placed in a small bottle cap...a little over an inch round.  I've placed the pin caps on some cinnamon coated, vanilla stained cardstock tags. A long, fat piece of coordinating homespun has been tied to each tag.  I've even added some teeny cinnamon dough do-dads...just for FUN! Each tag has tiny cut out letters that have been grubbied up too. Each tag measures about 3 inches tall [not including the long homespun hanger] by a little over 1 1/4 inches wide.

Jolly Ol' St. Nick

This one-of-a-kind original design punch needle Santa has been punched using 100% wool threads in rich shades of ruby red, holly green and winter white, with touches of light gray and light flesh tones. The background has been punched using a yummy overdyed wool in varying shades of midnight blue and deep plum.  I've added tiny glass seed beads for a little sparkle. A small rusty bell has been stitched to the end of his hat too...just for FUN! I've placed this Jolly Ol' St. Nick inside a vintage zinc canning jar lid, complete with porcelain liner.  The lid measures almost 3" round.  It'll come to your doorstep signed and dated by The Punchin' Fool [that's me!].

NEW Primitive Sampler What-Not Box  

This sweet little box is sure to please any punchin' fan!
What a nice way to keep your secret treasures, buttons or 'what-nots'  for safe keeping.  I've punched this little pillow sampler with wool threads on weaver's cloth using prim shades of red, blue, green, creamy yellow and off white. I gave it a tea and walnut ink bath so it's muted and soft. I've  stitched it onto a piece of burgandy wool felt, lightly stuffed it and blanket stitched it all around.  It's a little puffy in all the right places. It's been stitched to the lid of a papier mache box that's been painted a drab Army green and antiqued

On the inside of the lid you'll find a homespun yo-yo with a cinnamon dough heart button to make the box smell extra yummy. A piece of wool felt has been secured to the box bottom to protect your treasures. The box measures 2 3/4 inches square and is about 2 1/2 inches tall, with the punched pillow on top of the lid.  This box has been signed and dated by The Punchin' Fool [that's me!].

NEW Something to Crow About PinKeep 

This one-of-a-kind pin keep is sure to please any crow lover!   It's punched using quality wool threads in shades of black, charcoal, gold, tan and khaki. I've stitched it onto a piece of warm brown wool felt and tucked some lavender buds in between to make it smell nice.  I've added a little pillow of sand to the inside of the pin keep so your needles and pins will stay nice and sharp. This also gives the pin keep some weight so it stays on your work table nicely.  The entire piece is then blanket stitched all around. I added some vintage buttons from Grandmom's button box too!  The punched piece measures about 3 inches square. The entire pin keep measures about 4 inches square. An original design from The Punchin' Fool. Hope you like it!

A little behind bunny
This is another Punchin' Fool original design that's full of whimsy and FUN!  I've used some lighter colors of wool threads this time to highlight this bunny's character.   His cottontail has been punched a tad longer to give it some dimension too.  The entire piece has been lightly spritzed with a staining solution for a nice muted effect. I've used a vintage quart size Ball zinc canning jar lid as the frame. He'd love to hop into your home to help spread the joy! Measures about 3" round. Little Sheep Scissor Fob and Needle Keep

I love to punch up goodies that are not only purdy to look at but are useful too!  The scissor fob  [on the left] features a sweet little sheep punched in ecru and tan wool threads with a Robin's egg blue background. A scallop of a rosy, rusty overdyed wool floss completes the design. It is just the right size to pin onto your shirt so you'll always have your favorite scissors handy. I've blanket stitched two rosy colored wool hearts together so the pin isn't flimsy and floppy when wearing it. I've sewn a sturdy pin to the back of the wool heart and attached a foot long homespun braid with a vintage button and loop to hold your snips. The needle case [on the right] is lined with a matching homespun fabric and a smaller wool felt heart is blanket stitched on the inside for your needles. I've attached a piece of waxed linen as a 'hinge' so it's easy to open and close. Both pieces measure about 2 1/2" wide by about 3" tall. The punched design on the scissor fob measures about 2" by 2 1/2" and the sheep on the needle case is 1 1/4" by 2". They're each signed and dated by The Punchin' Fool [that's me!].
